Our Story

CyXcel began with a shared realization between two individuals from different fields.

In 2018, Edward Lewis, an infrastructure risk lawyer, and Jano Bermudes, a technology specialist, crossed paths while working on a project to test and validate the security of new genome sequencing technology.

What began as a professional relationship quickly transformed into a meeting of minds around a growing issue they both recognized: businesses were facing ever-more complex, interconnected risks, yet were addressing them in silos.

Both Edward and Jano saw the need for change. The world was evolving, with cybersecurity, legal, regulatory, and geopolitical risks becoming deeply intertwined. Yet businesses were still trying to manage them separately, leaving themselves vulnerable to modern threats.

Together, they envisioned something better — a fully integrated solution that would unite these critical areas of expertise under one roof. And so, CyXcel was born.
